These are some of the actions taken by the security forces in town as far as February goes. Many changes are showing up in the daily actions of the police forces in close coordination with other state and federal agencies.

February 4 – K9 agents made a search for narcotics in local schools. SECUNDARIA AMISTAD INTERNACIONAL, SECUNDARIA TECNICA 6 Y CEYTE BC The objective was to attend the call from the schools teachers for help to prevent drug use among students. No illegal substances where found.

One new Tourism Assistance Patrol, 2 motorcycles and 2 bikes were delivered as new equipment for the local police task force. Police Tourism agents are bilingual and in charge of the Malecon area and tourism camps as well as personal assistance for visitors.

 February 4 – Agents received recognition for their duties after receiving new training.

February 7 – Coordinated operative to locate and close places where stolen cables from public installations and robbed houses were being sold.

Results:  2 arrested and locations with improper registration were closed.

On February 10 the 089 service for virtual kidnappings personal assistance was presented by the C4 command and State Police.

Coordinated Operative  Task Force on February 12
Operated by: Local Police, Army, Navy and Federal Forces
Places where it toke place: LOS GAVIALNES, LOS ARCOS, CASIMIRO ALONSO, LA   CURVA EPNA, CAMPOS TURISTICOS, LAS MINITAS, and the  COMMERCIAL district.

RESULTS: 21 arrests and 1 criminal prosecuted for violent aggressions and robbery.

Beach Patrolling is now a common practice and agents are extending their perimeter to provide assistance and prevent crime on our beaches.

Scorpions Brigade is a group recently created by the police department of more than 60 young volunteers which are trained in personal defense, first aid assistance and human values.
