Desert Mothers News – Paperclay Workshop

Ready for a brand-new Desert Mothers workshop? Try your hand at learning the creative art form of paper clay sculpture and support Desert Mothers at the same time!

Paper Clay Sculpture Art Workshop
Date: Monday – February 18, 2013
Time: 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Cost: $40 dollars or $480 pesos

This playshop uses “Creative Paperclay.”  It is NOT made from clay – it is a mixture of starches, volcanic ash, and wood pulp and it air-dries.  This lightweight material can be moulded and shaped while it’s still moist and after it’s dried hard, it can be painted with tempera, watercolor, acrylic, enamel, markers, etc.  Use it to create jewelry, dolls, ornaments, miniatures, sculptures, wall hangings and anything you can imagine in a 3D form.

When creating a “clay” sculpture generally, there are long periods of waiting – drying, firing, glazing and refiring. This can take weeks.  In this workshop we will create a sculpture that you will be able to take home with you.

Call or email Donna Roberts to reserve your spot! Reach her at her cell 686-169-5267 or email her at
