A Beautiful Day of music, art, fun and friends under the Baja Sun!

With the sun-sparkled sea and the rugged outline of Machorro as a backdrop, gorgeous Baja weather, and strains of rhythmic music filling the air, this year’s Blues and Arts Festival was not an event to miss.
Artists from all over the region were displaying their beautiful creations along one side of the Festival. Browsing shoppers were treated to displays of vivid paintings, rustic metalwork, delicious wine jelly, unique pieces of jewelry, and much more.

At the opposite end of the Festival Grounds, the stage was set up on the beach, pouring forth the Blues. Rows of plastic and lawn chairs fanned out around it, filled with an appreciative audience taking in the talents of each of the bands.

Everyone seemed to find familiar faces in the crowd, and the Festival was bustling with people. The venue of the El Cortez Hotel was a beautiful location, with the Sea a few mere strides from the Festival, and the cactus and desert plants added a great atmosphere to the event.

Spring Time in San Felipe

Spring has sprung in San Felipe, and you can feel the changing season in the air…time to start getting out the shorts and sandals. Right now is the perfect time of year to get out-of-doors and explore Baja, go to an event, start gardening, enjoy the beach, anything that lets you soak up the warm sun before we head into summer’s heat.
Spring is also prime event time for San Felipe, with the Blues and Arts Festival this Saturday at the El Cortez Hotel, and the Rock and Roll Revival Casa de Fe Fundraiser on the 28th. Organized by Bill Spradlin, this event is in memory of his wife Carol: “Carol & I were planning this fundraiser for Casa de Fe when she died, so it is only natural to have this be a celebration of her life’s dream and also help celebrate her great love for dancing.”
And in April we have the 15th Annual South Campos Poker Run coming up along with Easter weekend!
Things are going on in San Felipe… get out there and enjoy it!
