This is the best time of year to take a vacation in San Felipe. Not too hot, not too cold, just right! We are having our high tides this week and they will wash the sand and carry away much of the trash left by the Memorial weekend crowds. It is the full moon tomorrow and we will have extreme high and low tides through Tuesday.

There was an article in yesterday’s North County Times (San Diego County) by Edward Sifuentes in which he describes his family Memorial weekend vacation to San Felipe and Ensenada. The article is worth reading for its positive emphasis on how Baja has re-invented itself to deal with the drug wars and the economic decline. All this is, however, being undone by the lengthy waits at the border to cross back into California. Sifuentes spent five and a half hours in line on Memorial Day. These delays are absolutely unacceptable to both California and Baja tourism yet nothing is being done to alleviate them in the short term. Read the full article here..>>
